Connect your AI app

You change your site by asking an AI app, such as Claude or ChatGPT. First, add the Elementry editor to that app and sign in. You do this once for each app you use.

What you need

• An AI app that can add a remote MCP server. Apps call this a connector, a custom connector, or an app.
• The email and password we sent you. We send the password separately from this page's link.

Free plans may limit how many connectors you can add or how many messages you can send. On a work account, an owner or admin may have to allow it first.

The steps every app shares

1. Add the editor's address in your app:

2. A browser window opens with “Sign in to Elementry”. Sign in with your email and password.
3. Your app shows the editor as connected.
4. Check that it works by asking:

   “Describe my site.”

Claude Code

In a terminal, run:

Then start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose elementry, and sign in in the browser window that opens.

Claude Desktop and claude.ai

1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
2. Select +, then Add custom connector.
3. Paste the address and select Add.
4. Select Connect and sign in.

To use it in a chat, select + below the message box, then Connectors, and turn Elementry on. Free plans can add one custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector for everyone first, in Organization settings, and then you select Connect.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT adds editors like ours on chatgpt.com in a browser, on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education plans.

1. Open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. On a business plan, an admin may have to allow this first.
2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins and select +.
3. Name it Elementry, paste the address, and choose OAuth for sign-in.
4. Create it, then sign in with your email and password when asked.

ChatGPT labels developer mode “Elevated Risk”, because an app added this way can change things. Ours changes only your site's preview, and nothing goes live until you say to publish.

Other apps

Any app that can add a remote MCP server with sign-in should work: add the address and follow the steps every app shares. We test with Claude and ChatGPT.

On your phone

Add the editor on your computer first. Claude's phone apps use a connector you added on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop the next time you sign in. ChatGPT's phone apps may not offer editors added this way yet.

Phones are good for quick text changes and for adding photos from your camera roll. For bigger changes, a computer makes the preview easier to check.

If sign-in doesn't work

• A new password can take a minute to start working. Wait a minute and try once more.
• After 10 wrong attempts, sign-in pauses for 15 minutes. Wait, then try again.
• There's no reset link. If you've lost your password, contact us and we'll send you a new one.
